OpenHealth

OpenHealth is a research project for development solutions of eHealth & Well-Being inside of mobile enviroments. This solutions are based on the management wireless biomedical devices in Body Area Networks (BAN) under the IEEE standards and Open Mobile Terminal Platform.

There are several goals which have been reached in the group up to date. For example, the implementation of the MultiChannel Adaptation Protocol (MCAP) used by the Health Device Profile which has been accepted and included in the BlueZ project (Official Linux Bluetooth protocol stack). We have also developed a manager for biomedical devices that can be certified according to the Continua Health Alliance and the ISO/IEEE 11073-20601 family standars. It implements the main components of this standards, like the Domain Information Model, Service Model and Communication Model, always with the goal of to transform the information in a interoperable format among agents and managers devices. And nowadays, we are working in the bluetooth low energy services and protocols, accordingly to the Bluetooth SIG and inside the BlueZ community, more specifically in the Health Thermometer Profile and Service over the GATT (Generic Attribute Profile) protocol.
